Crystal Palace FC are seeking an adept and experienced First Team Physiotherapist to deliver excellent physiotherapy services to the first team players, aiming to optimise performance, reduce injury risk and minimise recovery time from injury.
 
Our Sports Science and Medicine Department is comprised of experienced and skilled practitioners, working across a variety of disciplines. We are committed to developing robustness and optimising performance within our playing squad, as well as ensuring that injured players are safely and effectively returned to competition in the quickest possible timeframe. In order to achieve this, we strive to innovate and push boundaries, using clear processes, objectivity and continual reflection to guide us. We push staff within the department to make their own decisions and take ownership of the program, making a role within our department challenging but extremely rewarding.
 
You will be responsible for....
 
Clinical
 
Leadership and Communication
 
Communicating effectively with the Head of Medical Services and Head Physiotherapist to ensure they are kept up-to-date on all medical matters relating to first team players
 
Organising daily injured player’s rehabilitation schedules
 
Liaising closely with all sports science and medicine staff to ensure that an effective and efficient service is provided to the players
 
Assisting the Head Physiotherapist in continually developing the rehabilitation processes that we use to help the club maintain best-practise
 
Providing an excellent standard of assessment, treatment and rehabilitation to all first team players
 
Reviewing and providing further opinion on the management of all first team injuries as required by the Head of Medical and Head Physiotherapist
 
Leading on the rehabilitation of injured players as required by the Head Physiotherapist
 
Attending first team fixtures as required by the Head Physiotherapist, assisting in the provision of pitch side trauma cover and offering Hawkeye video feedback on in-game incidents
 
Accompanying players to medical appointments as required
 
Administration
 
Producing daily and weekly rehabilitation plans for sports science and medicine staff
 
Developing the rehabilitation hub of our athlete data management system
 
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date clinical notes in keeping with HCPC regulations
 
Ensuring Continuing Professional Development is undertaken
 
Other duties and responsibilities as required by line manager
 
Upholding and promoting the Club’s policies and procedures, including Health and
 
Safety, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities policies and procedures
 
You will have...
 
A minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience
BSc in Physiotherapy
Working towards or have achieved a Masters in a related field
HCPC and CSP registration
Up-to-date ATMMIF qualification
Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary environment in a professional sports setting, preferably football
Significant experience in the assessment, treatment and management of professional athletes, preferably including football players
Significant experience of planning and delivering gym-based rehabilitation strategies
Significant experience of using clinical and pitch-based objective measures to inform clinicaldecision making in rehabilitation
You are...
 
Knowledgeable of current sports injury research
Knowledgeable in the assessment, treatment and diagnosis of sports injuries
Comprehensive knowledge of rehabilitation and injury reduction strategies
Knowledgeable of movement analysis and intervention strategies
Conscientious- thorough and having an eye for detail
Composed – unflappable in a high pressure environment
Caring, positive and enthusiastic nature with players and staff
Decisive – able to make decisions based on sound reasoning and communicating themclearly and appropriately with players and staff
