Derby County Football Club are looking to recruit an experienced and committed Physiotherapist to join their First Team medical and sports science department. The successful candidate will have the skills, experience and knowledge to assist the Head Physiotherapist to continue to strive for excellence and optimal service provision within the medical department.

The successful candidate will share these values and as such, can demonstrate experience of developing and implementing innovative ideas and putting them into practice.
The successful candidate will have a meticulous attention to detail, possess exceptional communication skills and exhibit advanced levels of clinical reasoning. The successful candidate must have experience of working in an elite sporting environment, with a passion for working in professional football.
Key Responsibilities
To be involved in all medical/health related matters, including any assessment and/or treatment of the First Team playing squad
Design, develop and implement comprehensive rehabilitation programmes
To maintain focus of injured players and their rehabilitation pathway, whilst ensuring open communication is maintained with all involved in the rehabilitation process
Manage and develop return to play, and return to performance criteria in conjunction with all staff involved in the rehabilitation process
Continuously strive to ensure that the medical service provision at DCFC is at the forefront of all medical and rehabilitation developments
Work with Sport Science and coaching staff in close, pre, and in-season on the physical development of professional players
Attend home and away fixtures, training sessions, and training camps as directed by the line manager
BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy
Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)
Member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
At least 5 years full-time post-graduate experience in an elite sports setting
Exhibit advanced levels of clinical reasoning.
Ability and commitment to working irregular and unsociable hours as required
Highly motivated with an open-minded view to adopting new practices
Ability to work calmly under pressure and unsupervised
A post-graduate qualification or working towards (Sports Medicine, Manual Therapy, Strength and Conditioning etc.)
Training and experience with acupuncture
Advanced Trauma Medical Management in Football qualification
Interest in strength and conditioning
