We have a unique opportunity to work with the Club`s Women`s management and coaching teams to work as a doctor with responsibility for all medical matters in relation to the Women`s first team and Women`s Academy U9 - 21.

This role is a part-time permanent position and will require personal focus, commitment and dedication. The role will include working sometimes long and unusual hours to ensure that the needs of the Club, and specifically the medical requirements of the players, are met and exceeded.

ROLE

On a day to day basis you will:

Manage the provision of all medical services for LFC Womens Teams across all age ranges

Have medical responsibility for players, health and fitness for all fixtures, tours and other matches

Ensure that all players (under remit) and medical staff are fully aware of regulations regarding drug use / doping in sport, and manage a programme of drug testing as directed, including regulations relating to the WSL

Organise and attend any player pre-signing protocols as required.

Involvement in injury rehabilitation programmes, injury prevention, self management and extra work for nominated playing groups

Actively collaborate with other medical staff regarding issues in relation to injury related problems

PERSON

We`re looking for somebody who has a MSc/ Diploma in Sports Medicine and is a member / Fellow of Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine (UK) and ATMIFF. You will need to be a registered medical practitioner licensed to practise by the General Medical Council and have extensive experience of working in professional sport as a Team Doctor.

We would be particularly interested to hear from those who hold a Membership of MRCGP/ MRCS/ MRCP.

You are somebody who continues with your medical education and research and uses the latest techniques in your work. To be a success in this role you will hold specialist knowledge of sports medicine, analysis and treatment and have a high level of medical understanding of common sporting ailments and appropriate medical treatments.

You will need to be able to demonstrate experience of working in a professional medical team and collaborative environment and be able to show an understanding of the need for immediacy of treatment including emergency treatment. You will be comfortable in developing and managing a multi-disciplinary medical team within an elite sporting environment.

This is a highly collaborative role so you will need to be able to build professional working relationships. You will be empathetic in your approach and remain calm in pressured or crisis situations. We need somebody who is flexible, adaptable and a confident decision maker.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

This is a permanent part time position working 3 sessions per week which will be based around the football fixtures. Your main base will be the LFCW training facility in Wirral, Merseyside but there will be regular travel across the UK included.
